Terms of use
Terms for using MapAndMove.se.
Who we are
The website mapandmove.se is provided by:
MapAndMove, company reg. no. [ORG.NR], VAT no. [MOMSREG.NR]. Postal address: [POSTADRESS]. Phone: [TELEFON]. Email kontakt@mapandmove.se.
By using MapAndMove.se you accept these terms. If you do not agree to them you must stop using the site.
Last updated: 2 August 2026.
The service
MapAndMove.se collects and presents open data about Sweden's 290 municipalities: map, key figures, comparisons and guides. The service is free of charge and requires no registration.
We also offer property reports for a fee. The feature is being opened up in stages, and once it is available the purchase terms below apply in addition to these terms.
Parts of the map may contain paid placements, for example estate agents or housing queues shown when you draw an area. They are always labelled “Annons” (advertisement) and are delivered from our own server. A paid placement never affects the key figures, rankings or quiz results for the municipalities.
Permitted use
You may use the site for:
- Private exploration of Sweden's municipalities: searching, comparing, saving favourites, reading statistics
- Commercial research and editorial use: quoting with clear attribution to MapAndMove.se is welcome
- Embedding individual map links (e.g.
mapandmove.se/karta?intent=flytta-fran-stan) in articles, social media or your own site
Prohibited use
You may not:
- Use automated tools (scrapers, crawlers, headless browsers, bots) to fetch data beyond what robots.txt allows
- Circumvent rate limits, the municipality token system or CDN protection
- Reverse engineer or decompile the frontend code in order to reuse it in a competing service
- Bulk-fetch tile data, pmtiles, GeoJSON or JSON files outside normal map use (e.g. to build your own dataset or a competing service)
- Use the site in ways that disrupt operations or degrade other visitors' experience
- Use the site for anything unlawful, or to distribute malicious code
Third-party licenses
MapAndMove.se displays data from public sources. You are responsible for respecting each source's license terms even when the data is consumed via our site. This applies to, among others, OpenStreetMap (ODbL), Statistics Sweden (CC0), Wikipedia (CC BY-SA) and EOX Sentinel-2 (CC BY 4.0). See data sources for the full list.
Sanctions for violations
We reserve the right to block access without prior warning, through IP blocking, revocation of municipality tokens, user-agent blocks or other technical measures. In the event of a serious breach we may take legal action. We do not keep visitor profiles, but the web server's operational logs contain IP addresses and may be analysed to identify abuse. How long they are kept is stated in our privacy policy. A block does not affect a report you have already paid for. If we cannot deliver it we refund the purchase.
Purchase terms for property reports
The following applies when you order a property report. If you are a consumer, the Swedish Consumer Sales Act (2022:260) and the Act (2005:59) on distance contracts and off-premises contracts also apply and always take precedence over these terms.
- Price: stated at ordering in Swedish kronor including VAT. No charges are added beyond what is shown before you confirm
- The contract is concluded when we confirm your order by email. We may refuse an order in the event of an obviously incorrect price or if we lack source data for the property in question. If we refuse, we refund the full amount within 14 days
- Payment is made in advance through our payment provider. The report is delivered as a PDF to the email address you give, normally within a few minutes
- Right of withdrawal: as a consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal. If you tick the consent box at checkout you expressly consent to delivery beginning immediately and accept that the right of withdrawal thereby lapses, under chapter 2, section 11(11) of the Distance Contracts Act. We confirm your consent in the order confirmation. If you do not tick the box, the report is delivered only once the withdrawal period has expired, and you can withdraw until then by emailing us with your order reference
- Faults in the report: if the report is faulty or fails to arrive you are entitled to remedy, redelivery or a price reduction, and in the case of a material fault to cancel the purchase and get your money back. Report the fault within a reasonable time from when you noticed it, and a complaint made within two months is always in time. If a fault appears within one year of delivery we are liable for it unless we can show otherwise
- Refunds are made using the same payment method within 14 days of our accepting your complaint or your exercise of the right of withdrawal
- What the report is: a compilation of open data. It does not replace legally binding documentation. Always verify planning provisions, assessed value and property boundaries with Lantmäteriet, the municipality and the Swedish Tax Agency before deciding
Delivery didn't arrive? Contact kontakt@mapandmove.se with your order reference and we'll help you or refund the purchase.
Content and liability
All content on MapAndMove.se is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We compile and present open data, we do not produce it and we do not verify the accuracy of the sources. We give no guarantee that the information is correct, complete or current, and accept no liability for errors, omissions or decisions made on the basis of the site.
This applies in particular to:
- Statistics and key figures: may be up to two years old depending on the reporting cycles of Statistics Sweden and Kolada. Definitions change between measurement years and municipalities do not always count the same way
- Maps, boundaries and coordinates: are simplified so they can be drawn quickly, and are approximations. They never show exact property boundaries, ownership or legally binding positions
- Risk and environmental layers such as flooding, landslide, radon, noise, contaminated land and sea level are broad screening material from public authorities. They do not replace a geotechnical or environmental investigation and say nothing definitive about an individual property
- Travel times and journey suggestions are calculated from timetables and road networks at a given point in time. They are estimates, not undertakings that a journey can be made
- Places, addresses and businesses come largely from crowdsourced sources and may be misplaced, closed down or missing entirely
- Prices, rents and cost comparisons are historical averages and say nothing about what an individual property costs today
- Quizzes, matches, tags and recommendations are simplified models built on our own weightings. They are inspiration, not an assessment of where you should live
The site does not provide advice, whether legal, financial, tax, medical or estate agency related. Before decisions that matter, such as moving, buying property, building or establishing a business, you must always verify the information with the primary source: Lantmäteriet, the municipality, the county administrative board, SGU, SMHI, the Swedish Tax Agency or the relevant responsible authority. You use the site at your own risk.
The site contains links to external websites and sources. We are not responsible for their content, availability or handling of your data.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect loss, consequential loss, lost profit, lost savings, lost data or damage arising from your reliance on the content of the site.
For the free use of the site our liability is excluded entirely. If you have purchased a property report, our total liability for that order is limited to the amount you paid for it.
These limitations do not apply to damage caused by our gross negligence or intent, nor to personal injury, nor to liability that may not be limited under mandatory law. If you are a consumer, these terms never affect your rights under mandatory consumer protection legislation.
Content you upload yourself
If you upload photos to the digital museum or submit text through our forms, the following applies:
- You warrant that you have the right to share the material and that it does not infringe anyone else's copyright, privacy or other rights
- You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to publish, display, crop and store the material on the site. You retain the copyright to your image and may at any time ask for it to be removed
- Do not upload images in which individuals are recognisable without their consent, and nothing that is unlawful, offensive or misleading
- We review submissions manually. If we reject a submission or remove published material we tell you why, to the email address you provided when uploading, stating whether the decision is based on law or on these terms and how you can object
- We are not responsible for content contributed by other users. If you consider something unlawful or in breach of the terms, report it to us with a link to the material and a description of what is wrong, and we will assess it and get back to you
See something that should not be published? Email kontakt@mapandmove.se and we will remove it.
Intellectual property
Code, design, texts, compilation and presentation belong to MapAndMove and are protected by copyright. Our processed compilation of the datasets is additionally protected as a database under section 49 of the Swedish Copyright Act. Underlying data belongs to the respective rights holders (see data sources). You may not copy our code or our design choices for a competing service.
Availability and changes to the service
We do not guarantee that the site is available without interruption or free from errors. We may at any time change, pause or discontinue features, map layers and data without notice. If you have paid for something that is materially affected, we will refund it.
Changes to the terms
We may update these terms. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of the page, and continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. For a purchase, the terms in force when you ordered always apply.
If a provision is invalid
Should any part of these terms be invalid or unenforceable, this does not affect the remaining parts. The invalid part shall then be interpreted so as to achieve its purpose as closely as possible within the limits of the law.
Governing law and dispute resolution
Swedish law applies. If you are a consumer you may bring proceedings against us before the district court in the locality where you live, under chapter 10, section 8 a of the Swedish Code of Judicial Procedure. In other cases disputes are determined by the Swedish courts with Stockholm District Court as the court of first instance.
If you are a consumer and we cannot reach agreement, you may turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (arn.se, Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm), whose decisions we follow. If you live in another EU country you can get help from the European Consumer Centre (konsumenteuropa.se).
