Rundvik is a town in Nordmaling municipality in Västerbotten county, with just under 800 inhabitants. It lies by the Bothnian Sea, about ten kilometres southwest of Nordmaling, a quarter of an hour by car. The community grew up around a steam sawmill company from 1861.
The sea is a couple of minutes' walk away for many houses, and the forest lies across the road. The church and a pizzeria are close, and within three kilometres there are also a clothes shop, a petrol station, a charging station, two playgrounds, a football pitch and an outdoor gym. There is no food shop in the town, however, and for most people it is several kilometres to one, so shopping means driving. The nearest school is in Lögdeå, a bicycle or car ride away, and the same goes for the library and a café. There is no railway station nearby.
The downside is the ground: half a dozen registered soil contamination sites are found in the town, the nearest right next to the centre. For many houses the industry lies within a couple of minutes' walk.
The surrounding area has a mixed age structure, with a little over a quarter over sixty-five and a fifth under twenty. Employment among young adults in the municipality is among the highest in the country, while income levels are below the middle.
