Norrbo och Västansjö

Norrbo och Västansjö is a built-up area in Grangärde parish in Ludvika municipality in Dalarna, with about 256 inhabitants. Norrbo lies at the northern end of Bysjön, just over twenty kilometres north-west of Ludvika, and the postal town is Nyhammar. Ludvika is half an hour away by car, Stockholm three and a half hours and Göteborg six hours.

Bysjön is a couple of minutes' walk away for many people. School, church, restaurant, petrol station and campsite are all at cycling or driving distance, and within a few kilometres there are also ICA Nära Grangärde, a hairdresser, an optician, two hotels, sports grounds such as Åvallen and Ekomuseum Bergslagen. A café and a swimming pool are also a cycle ride or car trip away, while a sports hall and a railway station are far away. The neighbouring town Nyhammar, with just under a thousand inhabitants, is at cycling or driving distance. The plots are large.

The surrounding area is older than the country as a whole: one in three inhabitants is over sixty-five and a fifth are under twenty.

Norrbo och Västansjö suits someone who wants a lake and a large plot in Bergslagen and has a car for shop and school. Anyone who commutes by train or wants to walk to the shop will have to look elsewhere.
