Lanesund och Överby

Lanesund och Överby is a built-up area in Bohuslän with just over 900 inhabitants, in Uddevalla municipality. The sea is a couple of minutes' walk from most houses, and Gunneröd vatten is also close. By car it takes a quarter of an hour to Uddevalla, an hour and a quarter to Gothenburg and four and a half hours to Malmö.

The range in the town itself is small. The grocery shop, Rotan, is for most people at cycling or driving distance, and the school requires a car, since the nearest school lies a little outside. The town has one restaurant, and a couple more are within reach, among them Al paso, Lam Dee and Stallgården. There is also a preschool, Kreatörens förskola, Högås kyrka, two petrol stations and a care home for older people, Rotviksbro vård- och omsorgsboende. The train station is far away and requires a car. The main road runs right next to most houses, while industry and railway are far away. A military area is within walking distance but not close. Nature reserves are also within walking distance but not close.

The area around the town has an even age distribution with about a quarter in each group. Lanesund och Överby suits those who want to live near the sea and drive to most things, and suits less those who want the school close by.
