Kode

Kode is a built-up area with just over 1,500 inhabitants in Kungälv municipality in southern Bohuslän, in Solberga parish, twelve kilometres north of Kungälv and fifteen south of Stenungsund. The E6 passes the town, and Kode has a station on the Bohusbanan.

Most people live right next to a main road, and the railway is a couple of minutes' walk away. The school is also a couple of minutes' walk away, while the grocery shop and train station are within walking distance but not close. Within a few kilometres there are three grocery shops, among them ICA Nära Kode, and several preschools. The town has several schools, a library, a care home for older people and a petrol station, and nearby a couple of fast-food places. A café is within cycling distance and a restaurant within driving distance.

Forest lies across the road, farmland and water a couple of minutes' walk away. Several registered soil contaminations are found in the town, and a power line is within walking distance. A nature reserve is a bike ride away.

To Gothenburg it takes half an hour by car, to Kungälv a quarter of an hour and to Malmö three and a half hours. The area around the town has many children and young people, about a third, and a fifth over sixty-five. Much of the municipality's range is gathered in Kungälv and Ytterby, while the countryside around Kode has the necessities. Kode Hemvärnsgård is in the town.

Kode suits those who want a train and the E6 close by and to live on a smaller scale. Those who want restaurants and cafés within walking distance will have to travel.
