Traryd

Traryd is a town in Markaryd municipality in Småland with 659 inhabitants, by the E4 motorway. The river Lagan flows through the town, and water is a couple of minutes' walk away. The forest lies right next to the buildings, and the railway and the industrial area are also a couple of minutes' walk away.

Traryd is a town where most things are close. The library, the church, Traryds kyrka, and the school, Traryds skola, are a couple of minutes' walk from the middle, and the grocery shop, Coop, is within walking distance but not close for a typical property. The train station, Traryd, is at about the same distance. Here there are also two preschools, two petrol stations, an inn, Wärdshus Tranan, a mill museum and a riding hall. The pensioners' association PRO contributes to association life. The neighbouring town Strömsnäsbruk is a bike or car ride away, and the municipality's main town Markaryd a drive.

By car it takes about a quarter of an hour to the municipality's main town, an hour and three quarters to Malmö and about two and a half hours to Göteborg.

In the area around the town just over a fifth are under twenty and just over one in four are over sixty-five. Traryd suits someone who wants to live small with a train, a shop and a school within walking distance and Malmö within reach. It suits less well someone who wants a larger range of restaurants and culture.
