Törestorp

Törestorp is a town with about 270 inhabitants in Gnosjö municipality in Jönköping county, Småland. The nearest neighbouring town is Hillerstorp.

Daily life requires a bike or car. ICA Nära Nyckeln in Hillerstorp, the neighbouring town with just over sixteen hundred inhabitants, is a bike or car trip away, and so is the school. In the area there are the preschool Fjärilens förskola, Missionskyrkan, Töaparken and Ågårds lantgårdscamping. Industry is a couple of minutes' walk from most houses.

Forest and farmland are close, and water a couple of minutes' walk away. Hästhultasjön is within cycling distance. The most noticeable thing in the town is the ground: 28 contaminated sites are found here, the nearest across the road. A nature reserve and a Natura 2000 area are within walking distance but not close. Flood risk exists within walking distance, and so does a wind power plant. The railway and the railway station are a bike or car trip away.

To Gnosjö, the municipality's main town, it takes a quarter of an hour by car. To Göteborg it is two hours, to Malmö three and to Stockholm five. The surrounding area has an even age distribution, just over one in five inhabitants is over sixty-five and as many are under twenty. The town suits those who want to live in the countryside with Hillerstorp as a neighbouring town, but not those who want a shop or train within walking distance.
