För det mesta annat får man köra fem, sex mil till Karlstad, Kristinehamn eller Karlskoga. Tenant-owned flats for under a hundred thousand kronor occasionally attract foreign buyers out of curiosity, but the prices are low for a reason, and the reason is a lack of jobs. A bathroom renovation can cost more than the whole flat without raising its value, because an unattractive town brings no growth in value. At the same time, there is a counter-image among those who actually live here: beautiful nature, open and friendly people and a calm feeling.
