Längs Vättern och in mot Tiveden ligger ovanligt många naturreservat och en mängd campingplatser och vandrarhem, vilket gör att folkmängden sväller om somrarna. Vardagsservicen fungerar också, med ICA Supermarket, Coop och Systembolaget i Karlsborg, gym och bibliotek. The fortress, the Göta Canal and Tiveden are all close by, and the municipality is full of places to visit. There are around ten restaurants and nearly as many cafés, a cinema at Bio Casablanca, even a theatre at Fästningsteatern, and several museums around the fortress and the old ironworks at Forsvik. Along Lake Vättern and towards Tiveden there are unusually many nature reserves and a good number of campsites and hostels, which swells the population in summer. Everyday services work well too, with an ICA Supermarket, a Coop and the state-run off-licence Systembolaget in Karlsborg, a gym and a library. Mölltorp to the west is the second largest settlement, with its own library, school and grocery shop, while Undenäs and Forsvik further out are smaller and more dependent on a car. In Karlsborg norra stad the median income is highest and economic hardship lowest, while the northern surrounding area is at the bottom, and Mölltorp is among the more affluent parts. The education level is roughly the same as nationally. Most striking is the labour market for the young: employment among those in their twenties is among the very highest in the country, and unemployment is clearly below the national average, likely an effect of the regiment and industry as large local employers that hire early."},{"type":"p","text":"Safety is a clear plus.
