Kommunen är sällan ett samtalsämne i sig. Den nämns oftast i förbifarten när någon väger kranskommunerna runt Göteborg mot varandra, och bilden som tecknas är ganska samstämmig. Partille ligger i samma kollektivtrafikzon som Göteborg, vilket gör det märkbart billigare att åka in till stan än från kommuner längre ut, och tågen och bussarna längs Göteborgsvägen går tätt. Vardagsutbudet finns men är förortsmättat. Köpcentret Allum samlar handeln, och därutöver finns ett tjugotal restauranger, en handfull caféer och en biograf i Göta Bio. För krog, kultur och nöjen åker man in till Göteborg, som ligger några minuter bort. Till gengäld finns naturen nära, med Jonsereds strömmar, Kåsjön och flera naturreservat runt knuten."},{"type":"p","text":"Bostadsmarknaden har en kärvare ton. Hyresrätter är svåra att komma över, med långa köer hos det kommunala bostadsbolaget och lite på den privata sidan. Liksom flera grannkommuner har Partille dragit åt sovstadshållet. Gott om skola, restauranger och hantverkare, men inte särskilt gott om arbeten på orten. Att kommunen knappt diskuteras på djupet säger kanske något i sig. Medianinkomsten hör till landets högsta och andelen med eftergymnasial utbildning likaså. Andelen invånare med små marginaler är klart lägre än i riket. Det enda som sticker ut åt andra hållet är sysselsättningen bland unga vuxna i tjugoårsåldern, som ligger klart under rikssnittet, vanligt på orter där många i den åldern fortfarande studerar. Arbetslösheten totalt ligger kring rikssnittet. Tryggheten ser god ut på papperet. De anmälda brotten per invånare ligger under riksnivån, och kommunen har inga områden på polisens lista över utsatta områden. Det betyder inte att vardagsbrott saknas. The municipality is rarely a topic of conversation in its own right. It is usually mentioned in passing when someone weighs the ring municipalities around Gothenburg against each other, and the picture drawn is fairly consistent. Close to the city, easy to commute, but a place people primarily live in rather than build their whole life around."},{"type":"p","text":"Commuting is the common thread. Partille lies in the same public transport zone as Gothenburg, which makes it noticeably cheaper to travel into the city than from municipalities further out, and the trains and buses along Göteborgsvägen run frequently. Everyday amenities exist but have a suburban feel. The Allum shopping centre gathers the shops, and beyond that there are around twenty restaurants, a handful of cafés and a cinema at Göta Bio. For restaurants, culture and entertainment people travel into Gothenburg, which lies a few minutes away. In return, nature is close by, with the Jonsered rapids, Lake Kåsjön and several nature reserves nearby."},{"type":"p","text":"The housing market has a harsher tone. Rental flats are hard to come by, with long queues at the municipal housing company and little on the private side. Like several neighbouring municipalities, Partille has leaned towards being a dormitory town. Plenty of schools, restaurants and tradespeople, but not particularly many jobs in the locality. That the municipality is barely discussed in any depth perhaps says something in itself. Partille rarely stirs strong feelings in either direction."},{"type":"p","text":"The statistics point to an affluent suburban municipality. Median income is among the highest in the country and so is the share with post-secondary education. The share of residents with small financial margins is clearly lower than nationally. The only thing that stands out in the other direction is employment among young adults in their twenties, which is clearly below the national average, common in places where many people that age are still studying. Overall unemployment is around the national average. Safety looks good on paper. Reported crimes per resident are below the national level, and the municipality has no areas on the police's list of vulnerable areas. That does not mean everyday crime is absent.
