Den sista tvisten fick många att raljera över kommunal dubbelmoral, där privatpersoner möter pappersexercis för minsta byggåtgärd medan kommunen gör som den vill. Annars är tonen mest lättsam. Around it there are around thirty parks and nature reserves, a handful of campsites and several smaller hotels and hostels, including a nature hotel. In Stanstorp, Sätofta and Sjunnerup median income is the municipality's highest, while the railway village of Tjörnarp sits a good deal lower, and there almost one in five residents has a low economic standard. Tjörnarp has its own train station and the essentials, but for a wider range it is the urban area of Höör that counts."},{"type":"p","text":"The statistics as a whole paint the picture of an affluent commuter municipality. Median income is clearly above the national municipal median, the share with a low economic standard is clearly below the national level, and an unusually large share have at least three years of post-secondary education. Unemployment is around the national average. The only measure pulling downward is employment among young adults, which is a good deal below the national average. Safety does not stand out in either direction. Reported crimes are below the national level, and no areas appear on the police's list of vulnerable areas."},{"type":"p","text":"When Höör does reach the national press, it is through news events rather than everyday life. A murder case in 2021, the Sweden Democrats' white paper that once again dredged up a neo-Nazi meeting with a book burning led by a local Sweden Democrat politician outside Höör in the 1990s, and a dog exercise area that the municipality built seven metres from a property boundary and lost a court case over in 2025. That last dispute had many people mocking municipal double standards, where private individuals face paperwork for the smallest building work while the municipality does as it pleases. Otherwise the tone is mostly light-hearted. The double ö in the name seems to be irresistible material for puns, and the train delays between Eslöv and Höör are happily blamed on the local cows on the track."},{"type":"p","text":"Höör suits anyone who wants a house, forest and train commuting without the big city's price tag, and the figures suggest that many who have made that choice are doing well. Anyone who needs a city's range of services, or dislikes having everyday life framed by a train timetable, should think it over once more.
