All around there are plenty of campsites and nature reserves, and manor house settings such as Hook offer golf and nature. For larger shopping, cinema and evening entertainment, though, people have to look along the E4, usually to Jönköping. Median income ranges from just over SEK 320,000 in eastern Skillingaryd to around SEK 420,000 in western Vaggeryd, and in eastern Skillingaryd, which also has the municipality's lowest education level, one resident in five lives on a tight budget against four in a hundred in western Vaggeryd.
