Tillsammans rymmer de en handfull matbutiker, bank, bibliotek, en liten biograf och flera campingplatser, och att äta ute går faktiskt: ett knappt tiotal restauranger, från pizzerior till några med mexikansk inriktning, plus ett par caféer och konditorier. Industrihistorien syns i flera museer, bland annat Töllstorps och Hyléns industrimuseer, och här finns sporthall och badhus för den som vill träna inomhus. Strax utanför ligger High Chaparral, vilda västern-parken som drar folk på sommaren och förklarar varför kartan plötsligt fylls av saloonnamn och westernarenor. För konserter, shopping och nattliv på riktigt får man ändå åka till en större stad. Gnosjö and the neighbouring town of Hillerstorp have more everyday life than their reputation suggests. Together they have a handful of grocery shops, a bank, a library, a small cinema and several campsites, and eating out is actually possible: just under ten restaurants, from pizzerias to a few with a Mexican focus, plus a couple of cafés and patisseries. The industrial history shows in several museums, including the Töllstorp and Hylén industrial museums, and there is a sports hall and a swimming pool for anyone wanting to train indoors. Just outside lies High Chaparral, the wild-west theme park that draws people in summer and explains why the map is suddenly full of saloon names and western arenas. For concerts, real shopping and real nightlife, people still have to go to a larger city. The surrounding nature, with Store Mosse National Park within reach, is for many the whole point."},{"type":"p","text":"The statistics paint a profile that is unusual in Sweden. The share of residents with at least three years of post-secondary education is among the very lowest in the country, just under fifteen per cent, and yet median income is clearly above the national municipal median. The jobs come early. Three in four young adults are in work, clearly more than in the country as a whole, and unemployment stays around average. The pattern is the reverse of the big cities': the countryside has the highest median income, not the urban area, and the share of households on a tight budget is somewhat larger inside Gnosjö's urban area than in the surrounding countryside. The differences between the parts of the municipality are nonetheless small. Safety is easy to sum up.
