Den andra är vardagen, och den utspelar sig några kilometer bort i Märsta och kring Arlanda. Här finns Sveriges största arbetsplats, Arlanda, med tågstationerna Arlanda central, norra och södra, och pendeln tar dig in till Stockholm på dryga halvtimmen från Märsta. Den som jobbar på eller kring flygplatsen har osedvanligt nära till jobbet. I Märsta finns det mesta: ett tjugotal matbutiker över kommunen inklusive Willys, Stora Coop och Lidl, ett trettiotal restauranger och drygt tjugo caféer, flera gym, badhus i Midgårdsbadet, sporthallar och butikskedjor som H&M och Clas Ohlson. Den gamla staden har sina slottscaféer, sin hamn och sina museer, men för vardagsärenden är det Märsta som gäller. En sak utmärker bostadsmarknaden: hyreskön är mildare än inne i Stockholm, och även den med kort kötid kan komma åt ett förstahandskontrakt här. Medianinkomsten ligger en bit över snittet för landets kommuner, samtidigt som sjutton procent lever med låg ekonomisk standard, klart över rikssnittet. Båda är sanna på en gång, för skillnaderna inom kommunen är bland de största statistiken visar. I Til-Munkholmen är medianinkomsten kring 520 000 kronor. I Centrala Valsta drygt 269 000, ungefär hälften, i ett område där den ekonomiska utsattheten är som mest utbredd och utbildningsnivån som lägst. Arbetslösheten ligger över rikssnittet, utbildningsnivån som helhet kring det."},{"type":"p","text":"Brottssiffran kräver en varudeklaration. Antalet anmälda brott per invånare hör till landets allra högsta, men anmälda brott registreras där de begås, och Arlanda är en magnet på människor med hög polisnärvaro. En stor del av kommunens anmälningar lär komma därifrån snarare än från bostadsområdenas vardag. Helt går siffran ändå inte att vifta bort. Sweden's largest workplace, Arlanda, is here, with the train stations Arlanda Central, North and South, and the commuter train gets you into Stockholm in just over half an hour from Märsta. Anyone working at or around the airport has an unusually short commute. For others it means commuting, often by car, and you have to travel to find the big city's wider range on offer."},{"type":"p","text":"For everyday life, though, you can get far on the spot. Märsta has most of it: around twenty grocery stores across the municipality including Willys, Stora Coop and Lidl, around thirty restaurants and just over twenty cafés, several gyms, the Midgårdsbadet swimming pool, sports halls and chain stores such as H&M and Clas Ohlson. The old town has its palace cafés, its harbour and its museums, but for everyday errands it is Märsta that matters. One thing sets the housing market apart: the rental queue is gentler than inside Stockholm, and even someone with a short waiting time can land a direct lease here. The median income is somewhat above the average for the country's municipalities, while at the same time seventeen percent live with low economic standard, clearly above the national average. Both are true at once, because the differences within the municipality are among the largest the statistics show. In Til-Munkholmen the median income is around SEK 520,000. In Centrala Valsta just over SEK 269,000, roughly half, in an area where economic hardship is most widespread and the education level lowest. Unemployment is above the national average, the education level overall around it."},{"type":"p","text":"The crime figure needs a health warning. The number of reported crimes per resident is among the very highest in the country, but reported crimes are recorded where they are committed, and Arlanda is a magnet for people with a heavy police presence. A large share of the municipality's reports presumably come from there rather than from everyday life in residential areas. Still, the figure cannot be entirely waved away. Valsta is classified as a police-designated vulnerable area in the police's situation report, and the gap in living conditions between the tourists' Sigtuna, Märsta and Valsta is tangible."},{"type":"p","text":"Sigtuna suits those who want small town or rural living with Stockholm and the wider world within reach, not least anyone who works around the airport, and who values a shorter housing queue more highly than a central location.
