Två utsatta områden med koppling till kommunen finns i polisens lägesbild 2025, Hagalund och Hallonbergen, det senare förknippas oftast med grannkommunen Sundbyberg. Large parts of the municipality are grey and compact, and the densification around Mall of Scandinavia draws sharp criticism, buildings placed so close together that the view becomes the neighbour's living room. The rental queue is near hopeless without many years on the waiting list, and price levels are high even by Stockholm standards. The figure should be read with the police's usual caveat, crimes are recorded where they are committed, and Friends Arena and Mall of Scandinavia draw visitor flows of tens of thousands of people on derby days, flows that show up in the statistics. Two police-designated vulnerable areas with a link to the municipality appear in the police's 2025 situation report, Hagalund and Hallonbergen, the latter usually associated with the neighbouring municipality of Sundbyberg. Hallonbergen is rowdier than the rest of Solna but still a functioning everyday environment with good transport links, not comparable with the most burdened suburbs, even though advice sometimes circulates to choose preschool and school in adjoining areas instead.
