There is one ICA for the weekly shop, a couple of cafés, a handful of restaurants, a swimming pool, a couple of sports halls and a library. That covers everyday life but not much more, and for a broader range you need to travel to Södertälje or into Stockholm. Nature, on the other hand, lies close by, with forest and land around the town and Lake Mälaren within reach. Taxinge Castle with its well-known castle café is the town's main attraction, and around Vidbynäs there is golf and conference facilities. Much of the municipality is newly built: whole blocks have grown up on former forest land on the edge of the urban area, and the first residents to move in had to live for a while with building fences around the corner."},{"type":"p","text":"The statistics paint an unusually prosperous municipality. The median income is among the highest in the country, over SEK 90,000 above the national average, and only six percent live with a low economic standard against fourteen nationally, among the lowest shares in the country. Unemployment is clearly below the national average and the education level above it. Prosperity is also evenly distributed, since all three parts of the municipality, Turinge, Nykvarn and Taxinge, sit well above the national median income. Safety follows the same pattern.
